Is your blog boring enough to make your visitors start watching porn instead?
You can spend a lot of time and effort building your traffic, readership and popularity of your blog, however if its not interesting enough, you have just wasted you time creating any kind of traffic.
A blog is no longer about putting plain text and content up on your blog. With continues growth of Blogs where new software’s, plug-ins and tools available a blogger has no excuse to make his blog more interesting and fun.
Here are some ways you can make you blog interesting.
1. Adding graphics and photos to your post will increase readability of the post. It will spice up a plain old content and hypnotize the reader to read it.
2. Blog Podcasting is a new medium you can try out. Bloggers with weekly, bi-monthly or monthly podcast will always get return visitors.
3. Streaming videos is gaining popularity among bloggers. You can stream a serious video on your topic but the best videos are the funny kind. Having a laugh or two on your blog won’t hurt it. Relax and have fun. The funny videos is the best kind of content to post on Sundays or holidays.
4. Syndicate your contents. Remember you must learn the art of crafting a good headline. While RSS syndication is not new but couple with extremely hypnotic headlines your rss feed will generate you more traffic then it ever did.
5. Encourage more interactivity on your blog. Create a forum and interact with your visitors. Do a “MLR of the month” (Most Lovable Reader) post, where you write and highlight one of your readers. Highlight why you love this reader and how he contributed to you and to your blog. You first start by writing a post about them first then letting them know about it. They will appreciate it and do the same for you.
6. Run free polls on your blog. Make it some fun and inline with current happening. For example if you are following “The American Idol” you can have a poll where you ask “If Sanjaya Will Qualify for the next round or not?” Make your polls fun and interesting.
7. If you don’t do anything we are suggesting here, then do this one. Your blog must be aesthetically good looking. Go spend some cash on a real custom wordpress theme. The reason for this is you must make your blog look unique. There are hundreds of blogs out there that look the same; however the ones with thousands of readers are the one with custom themes.
8. Create your own challenges on your blog. Things like “The Top Commenter on Jag Senghera’s Blog” or “The Best MyBlogLog Member for Jag Senghers’s Blog”. Maybe you way one to try “Birthday Bash of the Month” where you give a special free gift to your readers who are born on a certain month. Don’t worry if your readers lie on their birthday date, your outcome is to spice up your blog.
