NewsGator Partners With nbbc to Integrate Video Content Into RSS Feeds for Launch of Online Video Service

NewsGator Technologies, the leading RSS platform company, today announced a partnership with nbbc, a new division of NBC Universal, providing a marketplace for digital video syndication. As part of the agreement, NewsGator will take video from nbbc and distribute it through its NewsGator Online and Yahoo! Instant Messenger feeds.

The nbbc service aggregates content and distributes it to a network of partner Web sites, while providing advertising revenue built into the feeds. nbbc is combining its own NBC Universal content, as well as content from providers such as A&E Network, CNET and Access Hollywood, then syndicating that content to publishers.

NewsGator will feature nbbc content in NewsGator Online and Yahoo! Instant Messenger feeds initially. The partnership will greatly expand the breadth and diversity of available content for the full NewsGator platform. NewsGator editors can now choose from a wide menu of videos from nbbc content providers and select the best ones to redistribute through its network.

"nbbc's video initiative is an important reflection of the expanding role of video online," said NewsGator CEO J.B. Holston. "The integration of nbbc video content across NewsGator's platform will greatly expand the experience for our users and partners."
